A CLOSER LOOK...
I really loved the Damir Doma aw10 sneakers! Not easy to come up with a surprisingly great new sneaker anymore since that market has kind of been worn a bit thin lately... however I really did find that the Damir Doma aw10 sneakers are very desirable - without being too over worked.
Here is a peak at the 2 color ways I have picked out for PARISTEXAS.

SUNDAY IN PARIS...
DAMIR DOMA WOMENS PREVIEW
Damir Doma is launching his first womens collection in Paris during fashion week in march... but he showed a small preview of the collection to come at the end of yesterdays mens show. 3 womens entries... looking very much in the style of the mens collection.
I am looking forward to seeing the complete collection in march.

DAMIR DOMA AW10 SHOW
Last show of the day: Damir Doma at garage Turenne at 18.30 hrs...
Exciting too se what he would deliver this time as the aw09 collection was such a success in the shop and I loved the ss10 ( that will be delivered very very soon).
The show was called "Arrival" and I lengthy press release was at my seat ( i will upload later including comments but i dont have the time right now ).
Good view again from front row... so lots of good pictures.
The new sneaker was looking good !

MIHARA YASUHIRO AW10 SHOW
At noon japanese designer Mihara Yasuhiro showed his aw10/11 collection " Be Attitude". I had been looking forward to this as I have been interested in his collections for a while.
It was a big venue and it was packed...
The show started with the japanese violinist Ryo Goto that appeared against the lit white backdrop. He played what I would called experimental violin ( and I know absolutely nothing about playing the violin ) all through the show only half way accompanied by and old crackly version of " Mister Sandman" as a few eerie black outfits appeared before the music and show fell back into the original vibe again...
A long show... I counted about 35 entries.
The show had a feel of 1950's americana but in a quite sophisticated way - cleverly mixed with lots of tailoring. The rugged details were amazing ( and immaculate in a way that only a japanese designer can deliver them) and I really loved the very a/w feel of the show.
I had a good view so I snapped lots of pictures...

BORIS BIDJAN SABERI AW10 SHOW
Today I have 3 shows to see in Paris... first up is Boris Bidjan Saberi.
The collection is called Primitive Sculpture and is presented with this note: " It's an evolution from a primitive wood statue of sculpture modeling a human body. Straight and angular, rough and rigid. Maintaining the eleven elements of Boris Bidjan Saberi".
He showed in a smaller venue in the Marais and due to the size of the gallery it was really packed. He had 10 entries and mixed nude like colors into the black universe that we usually would expect him to deliver. Strong and sharp coats and jackets covered a more layered look making for a stronger and much more geometric appearance than last season.
I am excited to see the complete collection in the showroom next week as he always has so much more available including loads of jersey and knit pieces that does not appear on the actual show.
My pictures really show how intimate the venue was...

KRIS VAN ASSCHE AW10
After the Rick Owens show ( that was delayed quite a bit due to excessive queueing) I was off to the Kris Van Assche show named "Resistance".
I dont have much time... so just a few pictures and I will get back with comments later... The venue was a fantastic old building with wooden beams in the 6th arr.
And then the pap shot... Chris Browne about the exit the show venue.

RICK OWENS AW10 SHOW
Rick Owens aw10 show was today at 13.00 hrs in the beautiful building of Ecole Nationale de Beaux Arts.
The ambience started out quite light and gradually became darker - moving to the changing pace of a remixed “Through The Looking Glass” by Mott The Hoople ( according the my iphone’s Shazam that finally came to perfect use ).
The collection was heavy and very clean cut - almost stiff but still with a clear signature.
Medieval influences was seen in blacksmith like aprons and heavy arm length “gloves”.
The collection was definately a change - a change that could be seen as a commercial move by some, because of the cleaner lines, but I actually felt the opposite as it in many was was daring when you think of the “ regular” Rick Owens signature look that is mostly more grungy and layered.
A nice change I believe... like taking a deep breath and straightening the back for a moment.
On a paprazzi note: Kanye West and Amber Rose was spotted front row hiding behind their shades...
